— Saturday, September 12 from Noon to 6:00 p.m. —
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (August 20, 2015) – Noise Pop, along with Ne Timeas Restaurant Group, are proud to announce the third annual 20th Street Block Party taking place Saturday, September 12 from noon to 6:00 p.m. on 20th Street between Harrison and Bryant streets in the Mission district. The free neighborhood celebration of music, food and drink, and art just outside Noise Pop HQ will bring some of the community’s best sights, sounds and flavors to an expected 15,000 guests throughout the afternoon.
Within the three blocks of the street party two stages will offer a mix of nationally recognized and local talent. The main stage will feature performances from alt-folk group Thao & The Get Down Stay Down, who will have their first Bay Area performance since Noise Pop Festival and their last SF show until 2016. Singer and guitarist Nick Waterhouse, who has performed with artists like the Allah-Las and also once worked at Rooky Ricardo’s Records in the Lower Haight District, will also take the main stage on Saturday. Talented singer-songwriter and San Francisco native Andrew St. James is barely out of his teens and starting to grab a lot of much-deserved attention. Nonprofit music school San Francisco Rock Project, who have shared the stage with Ty Segall and tUnE-yArDs, will round out the music on the main stage.
The Bandwagon stage will welcome the Noise Pop veterans Dominant Legs, which will be one of their first shows back as the indie pop group’s reemergence as a duo. Also taking the stage during the afternoon is Fine Points, a newly minted local band featuring members of psych rock outfit Sleepy Sun and recently signed to Dine Alone Records with a new release of their debut, “Hover,” along with No Vacation, a musical project that recently grew out of a dorm room collaboration between University of San Francisco students Basil Saleh and Sabrina Mai and is now gaining steam and acclaim.
“We live in one of the greatest neighborhoods in the Bay Area. We’re honored that we have the opportunity to celebrate this little enclave of the city for the third year in a row,” says Noise Pop GM Dawson Ludwig.
With the lineup of stellar Bay Area musical talent providing the soundtrack, the 20th Street Block Party will also feature some of the community’s best restaurants and dining spots offering the area’s most delicious food and drink. Ne Timeas Restaurant Group is curating an amazing lineup of participating eateries for guests to choose from, and they will entertain and educate culinary fans with a cooking demo stage.
Admission is free to the 20th Street Block Party, and food and drink will be available for purchase. VIP tickets are available for $95 and will offer access to a private lounge, restrooms, free food and drinks, and special stage view areas.
