San Francisco Venue, The Masonic, to Re-Open September 2014 Following Extensive Renovations

The Nob Hill Masonic Center will re-open its doors this September, finalizing the extensive renovations that started in the spring of this year. The venue which has been home to five decades of live entertainment, will now include a new concert stage, sound system, art installations, and increased general admission seating, as well as a modernized name, “The Masonic.”

The upcoming months are already full of many notable acts including, Old Crow Medicine Show, Hall and Oates, The Pixies, Train, and The 1975. For those unfamiliar with this venue, it’s great because it is easily accessible by MUNI bus and two cable car lines. My favorite spot to meet for food and drink is at Big 4 inside the Huntington Hotel, and if you are looking for cheaper fare Zeki’s, Thai Thai Noodle, The Hyde Out, and Wreck Room are merely blocks away. Lastly, the original murals and mosaics in The Masonic are not to be missed. The murals celebrate geometry and symmetry and are very aesthetically pleasing.
