Beneath the heat of the sun the waves crash. Over and over the waves crash. Settling at the beaches end, the water’s foam breaks down, dissipating into smooth sandy hills of yellow. Listening to El Ten Eleven’s “Transition” is similar to a beach side portrait–as the album cover suggests. Loops methodically, driven with mathematical precision, build then subside and return like the tide. It’s easy to get lost in the hypnotical movements like the album’s title track which is nearly 11 minutes long but passes oh so quickly.
If you’re a fan of Explosions in the Sky you will surely fall in love with this.
