Win Tickets to Charles Bradley and Menahan Street Band this Friday

Sharon Jones label mate Charles Bradley will take the stage at the Great American Music Hall this Friday. Like Jones, Bradley is an artist who’s been ignored most of his career–but fortunately–not all. Riding the success of his latest album, No Time For Dreaming, Bradley is final getting the attention his skills deserve. Backed by the Menahan Street Band, expect the heat from this  performance to put the bounce in your perms and the shuffle in your step.

The Menahan Street Band, who will open the night, shouldn’t be missed. Like El Michels Affair, Menahan Street Bands’ latest album, The Crossing, mixes classic soul with hip hop rhythms through live instrumentation–making any emcee want a piece of the action.

We’ve got a pair of tickets to giveaway to this show and all you have to do is:

    My favorite track is ” No time for Dreaming”, so many of us just want the end result of our dreams but are not willing to sacrifice and work hard for our goals no matter how small or big they are, theirs an excellent quote by one of my role models that says.

    Life beats down and crushes our souls and theatre reminds us that we
    have one. At least the type of theatre that I’m interested in; that is,
    theatre that moves an audience. You have the opportunity to literally
    impact the lives of people if they work on material that has integrity.
    But today, most actors simply want to be famous. Well, being an actor
    was never supposed to be about fame and money. Being an actor is a
    religious calling because you’ve been given the ability, the gift to
    inspire humanity. Think about that on the way to your soap opera
    audition.

    I believe Charles Bradley illustrates that well in his music, especially in this song. On another note I’m a huge fan and couldn’t take the time off work to go to see my biggest idol Charles Bradley, now that I have the opportunity to go tonight, tickets are sold out.
