Fresh on the scene, Scottish electro-pop trio CHVRCHES have been working hard to make a name for themselves. Amongst the array of female vocalized electronic bands such as Purity Ring and Made In Heights, the nostalgic 1980’s pop rhythms of CHVRCHES have worked in their advantage to give them a sense of fresh breath.
With the release of their second single “The Mother We Share,” CHVRCHES again drops another track filled with their signature electronic haze of pop exuberance. In a way that taps into the innocent joys of Cindy Lauper and Blondie with the electro-pop excitement of Passion Pit and The Knife, CHVRCHES manages to amalgamate the catchiness and exhilaration of both eras. With neon synths shooting in all directions throughout the production, vocalist Lauren Mayberry successfully eases each sound to a soothing melody; a delicate voice that sways through every shining sound, fragile yet vibrant. While Fall may be arriving in full swing, apparently the Glasgow trio seem to not have noticed, capturing the carefree craze of summertime freedom with perfect accuracy.
