Divine Fits – “Would That Not Be Nice”
Newly formed American rock band, Divine Fits, spawned in early 2012 after Britt Daniel (Spoon) suggested to Dan Boeckner (Handsome Furs and Wolf Parade) that they should consider formally collaborating on a music project. Drummer Sam Brown (New Bomb Turks) and keyboardist Alex Fischel (Papa) are also involved, and thankfully the group already appears to delivery every bit as good as you’d expect a band with that pedigree to be.
“Would That Not Be Nice” from their debut album, A Thing Called Divine Fits, effectively stimulates listeners through Daniel’s unmistakable vocals with a garage-psych guitar and drums snares that keeps the tone tenacious. The track has both substantial continuity and robust character that one would anticipate from these musicians. The record was released on August 28 via Merge and received uniformly positive reviews.
UPDATE: The band just released a brand new video for this song, seen below. Great timing!
