Citizens! – “Caroline” (live in Torino, Italy)

“Pop is not a dirty word. It’s a holy one,” says Citizens! drummer Mike Evans. Known for their catchy tunes with melodious vocals, these five Londoners recently traveled to the “cradle of Italian liberty” and “the Capital of the Alps,” Città di Tori (Italian: Torino, pronounced [toˈriːno]…also sometimes referred to as ‘Turin’) to film a stirring video for their song “Caroline.”

The capital city of Piedmont Region in north-west Italy provides a beautiful backdrop for a live version of their track off their album “Here We Are,” which has a fitting title. “It’s us against the world,” boasts keyboardist and guitarist, Lawrence Diamond, “we make our own rules and we take them very seriously, but it works because we don’t take ourselves seriously while we do it.” The project is part of their Milano Acoustics tour and the superb cinematography goes quite well with their sensitive singing.
