Electric Guest is a band with a hell of lot of backing seemingly poised to break. Their upcoming album was produced by Danger Mouse (a man who seems to have a golden touch) and is getting promoted by some reputable names (I was solicited them by Nasty Little Man, same PR firm for Foo Fighters, Explosions in the Sky, and more). After one listen, you can hear the retro-pop that made Gnarls Barkley such a success. Watch the video for “This Head I Hold” below.
If the first singles and are any indicator, Electric Guest will likely playing college tours soon. Their debut album, Mondo, will be released by Downtown Records (home of Miike Snow, Gnarls Barkley, Mos Def, etc.) on April 24th.
