Nero at Ruby Skye

On December 29th,British DJ group, Nero, lit up Ruby Skye with a blast of sound. The group crossed our path with their remix of “Blinded by the Lights” by the equally iconic British band, The Streets. They may not be a household name in the US, but they are regularly played by some of the most popular European DJs from Chase & Status to Tiesto.

The former duo, now trio, are also hips deep in the dubstep movement that has been filling up the DJ platters. Even if you’re not a fan of the dubstep sound you must check out their Dubstep Symphony performed by the BBC Philharmonic this past June.

The live set was full of classic Ruby Skye tropes, the mist and crazy lights, and classic tunes remixed. I must admit, I was sad to see only one third of the Nero trio there to perform, but that’s one of the tricks of being in a DJ group, I guess. Unlike a classic band, Nero can be in three cities in one night!
