Caveman is a New York indie rock group that is receiving glowing praise for their debut album, Coco Beware. Their first single, “Thankful,” like many of their tracks is submerged in gentle reverb. The bedroom folk of vocalist and guitarist Jimmy Carbonetti softly reflects on relationships and friends. And where at similar styled music becomes lulling background sounds, the album dynamically shifts to ominous and eery tones on “Vampire” and “Easy Water.” After making waves at CMJ this past fall, receiving mentions from NPR and the The New York Times, they’re now on their first west coast tour. They play The Brick and Mortar on 12/11.
