City and Colour stopped by The Fillmore this past weekend, to play a show on the west-coast leg of their North American and Canadian tour. The stop wasn’t added until mid-September, but they sold out the venue with ease.
Playing with his well-talented fellow Canadian musicians, the sound was tight and full, and projected nicely throughout The Fillmore’s PA system. Playing hits from his original releases, such as “The Girl” and “Fragile Bird,” all the way on up to his newest material off of the just-released album, Little Hell. The show had an all around positive and fulfilling vibe.
Dallas Green, the former Alexisonfire frontman and guitarist, has had a successful run over the course of the last 5-6 years: playing sold out shows and festivals all over Europe, and selling out marquee venues all over Canada and the US. With the announcement of the post-hardcore group breakup in only August of 2011, it’s clear his efforts will be focused on his City and Colour project for the much of the immediate future.
The group will play stops all along the US, until mid-January when they head North to play throughout their home country of Canada. Little Hell was released in June of this year, and is available for purchase throughout the normal digital and analog channels.
