
The San Francisco festival, Outside Lands, announced today that Arcade Fire, Muse, and Phish will headline the three day wine, food, music, and art event. In its fourth year, after last year’s success, the festival has returned to a three day schedule. In comparison to last year’s two day schedule which seemed to have a particular musical theme for each (Saturday was dance music and Sunday was relaxed listening), this year’s lineup has lumped several musical styles on each day. New and old hippies enjoying Friday’s headliner’s, Phish, will also get some funk and hip hop in their step with Big Boi, The Meters, and Erykah Badu. Rather than schedule back to back the dance DJ’s, Girl Talk and DeadMau5 (as we expected) on Saturday, Girl Talk will play before Muse and Deadmau5 will likely headline the smaller stage Sunday.
Will this effect the turnout or simply encourage fans to attend more days? We’ll have to wait and see. Regardless, we plan on attending the whole weekend and will bring you up to date coverage.
