There cannot only be one! Chinese Man is a French collective of producers/DJ, who trained extensively in the “Wu Tang Mountains, not far from Marseilles.” The collective consists of martial beats craftsmen Leo the bug, and SLY who’ve centered the group’s chi beats. The DJ soldiers of Zé Mateo, The Yan and High Ku honed their Wu mastering the integrations of styles like dub, reggae, hip hop, jazz and funk. In their coup d’etat, Chinese man have propagated their music with banners of their great war, impressing upon the people “Make music, not war.”
Their mastery gained attention from the Mercedes Automotive which featured the group’s song, “I’ve Got That Tune” in an advertisement. The son was included in their first LP, The Groove Sessions that was released late in 2007. Both Leo the bug and SLY have release solo-productions, separate from the group. The group’s second album, The Groove Sessions 2 was released in 2009.
