The White Panda
Girl Talk is like SO five years AGO, didn’t you KNOW that? Cuddle up with The White Panda, get randy on the floor–because there’s a new beast in town. Sure Girl Talk’s ADD style is hard to match, but The White Panda are blending indie with hip hop seamlessly. From mixing Discovery with Big Boi, Matt & Kim with Wale, or Starfucker with Dr. Dre–the duo of Tom Evans and Dan Griffith (The White Panda) seem to have their musical tastes on point. Don’t worry, each song samples at least four bars, not just a Girl Talk snippet, “I’m the baddest bitch” repeated five times. Our only quip, take off the masks–it’s been done. This is remix/mashup Wednesday (if you didn’t know, now you know)–and this is The White Panda.

From their “About Us” page:

The White Panda is a mash-up/remix duo made up of Tom Evans (aka Procrast) and Dan Griffith (aka DJ Griffi) based out of Chicago and Los Angeles. Panda formed in early 2009 after the duo decided to collaborate on their independent efforts. The two have been composing and producing music together on and off for about 7 years. Most of The White Panda’s live sets are hosted by colleges although they can be caught at the occasional bar as well. The duo released their debut album, entitled “Versus”, on December 28, 2009 and just released their latest album “Rematch,” on July 2nd, 2010.
