He ain’t nuttin to fuck wit! The Killah from the Wu brings his swagger to Slim’s this Thursday (Nov 11th). He may be only one man of the clan, but he comes to bring the muthafuckin’ ruckus–so get psyched. Where many rappers sound stifled live, every show I’ve seen of Ghostface Killah comes just as strong as the last. He’s brash. He’s sharp. He’s animated. He’s also fucking tall–did you know?
His new album, The Apollo Kids, drops on December 10th.
Toro Y Moi until earlier this year was just a guy on his computer, up late at night, making music. Now he’s one of the best new artists of 2010. His debut album, The Causers of This, is lush with synthesizers, muffled calls, and emotion. I once described his music like this, “take a Michael Jackson record, skip the needle, distort the speakers to lo-fi, and walla–you have Toro Y Moi.” Early this year we reviewed Toro Y Moi’s album for our music submissions.
I have no intention of missing this show–and neither should you. Toro Y Moi plays at the Rickshaw this Friday (Nov 12th).
